About Sam
Sam is a highly experienced planning professional providing technical input into all stages of the development process from site finding and initial site appraisal all the way through to expert planning witness and implementation of consents. Sam started his career career working as an in house planner for a development company specialising on property, energy, waste and mining project. Sam then moved into consultancy working on a wide variety of projects nationwide for large multidisciplinary and specialist planning practices. Alongside Sam’s previous work experience he has also been the Regional Chair of the North East Royal Town Planning Institute. In his spare time Sam enjoys cycling and spending time with his young family.

About Richard
Richard is an experienced planning consultant, skilled in preparing evidence to challenge or address onerous planning policies, conditions or obligations to avoid unnecessary delays and ensure development proposals are high quality whilst remaining financially viable. Richard has the benefit of professional experience in both the public and private sector, having started his career at a Local Planning Authority before working at a senior level for a national developer. Moving back to the north east in 2017, Richard joined a well-established property consultancy, where he successfully set up and lead the planning team. In his personal time, Richard enjoys spending time with his young family including trips to the Northumberland Coast and Lake District to walk their energetic Cocker Spaniel.

About Nathan
Nathan is an experienced planning professional who is able to offer guidance at all stages of the planning process, from initial viability assessments and pre-application enquiries through to submission and management of planning applications, to ensure the best chance of success. Nathan graduated from University in 2018 and began his career working in the public sector for a Local Planning Authority for 5 years before joining Identity Consult Planning. In his previous roles he has gained an understanding of the planning system through dealing with a wide range of complex minor and major planning applications. Nathan is working towards becoming a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute after recently submitting his application for Associate Member status. In his spare time, Nathan enjoys watching cricket, attending the football as a season ticket holder for Newcastle United and playing golf.

About Erin
Erin, a recent Master of Planning graduate from Newcastle University, joined the Planning team and is currently working on a variety projects. Erin joining IC Planning in September 2023 after having secure a Masters degree in Planning from Newcastle University. Erin has previous Local Planning Authority experience at Edinburgh City Council. Erin is currently working towards her APC to become a Chartered Planner with the Royal Town Planning Institute. Outside of the office, Erin enjoys playing tennis, travelling and socialising with friends.
